Located in Joghatai County of Razavi Khorasan Province, the Joghatai High Carbon Ferrochrome Complex is the largest producer of high carbon ferrochrome in Iran. Commissioned in 2004, the complex was established with the goal of processing chromite and supplying ferrochrome for the country’s steel and foundry industries. It is owned by the Iranian Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO), and since 2017, has been operated and managed by Partgowal Co.
Key Role in the Steel Industry Supply Chain
With an annual production capacity of 25,000 tons, Jagatai Complex is one of Iran’s most strategic producers of high carbon ferrochrome. The plant’s high-quality output (minimum 62% chromium, maximum 2% silica) is widely used in steelmaking, alloy production, and foundry applications.
Strategic Development Plans Under Partgowal Leadership
To enhance productivity, expand product range, and prevent raw material export, Partgowal has initiated the following strategic development projects:
Establishment of Iran’s first Low Carbon Ferrochrome production unit (capacity: 16,000 tons/year)
Construction of a Silicon Metal production unit (capacity: 1,500 tons/year)
Commissioning a slag metal recovery line (capacity: 625 tons/month)
Development of chromite concentrate and chromite sand production lines to increase value-added output
Implementation of environmental controls and upgrades to industrial wastewater treatment systems
Achievements and Performance
In 2024 (1403 SH), the complex achieved record-breaking performance in both exports and HSE domains—reflecting the dynamic and strategic management of Partgowal.
